Using the Wrapper jar from Maven

The Java Service Wrapper jar component can be accessed from the Tanuki Software Maven repository for easy integration with your projects.

https://repo.tanukisoftware.com/maven

The jar version must be the same as the native Wrapper binary used to launch the application. Those binaries, shell scripts, configuration file template, etc. are available as part of the full release distribution which is available from the Download page. They are not available from the Maven repository.

The Java Service Wrapper jar is available under both commercial and open source licenses, and is thus hosted on the Tanuki Software Maven repository rather than being made available directly on Maven Central. You will need to specify the repository in addition to the wrapper dependency within your project pom.xml. It is also possible to specify the repository within your common Maven settings.xml file.

What is published

Version 3.7.4 publishes these files:

  • wrapper-3.7.4.jar, the same signed wrapper.jar shipped with the release.

  • wrapper-3.7.4-sources.jar, the Java API sources.

  • wrapper-3.7.4-javadoc.jar, the Java API documentation.

An IDE can attach the source and javadoc jars with these dependencies:

<dependency>
    <groupId>org.tanukisoftware.wrapper</groupId>
    <artifactId>wrapper</artifactId>
    <version>3.7.4</version>
    <classifier>sources</classifier>
</dependency>
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.tanukisoftware.wrapper</groupId>
    <artifactId>wrapper</artifactId>
    <version>3.7.4</version>
    <classifier>javadoc</classifier>
</dependency>

Version 3.7.4 requires Java 1.7 or later (Java 1.4 or later was support through version 3.6.5). Each version's POM file specifies the minimum Java version required.
